Fall 2011 Alumni News
Jacob Fine (2004-2005 faculty) is really, really enjoying working as Rabbi and Director of Programs for the Jewish Farm School and is happy to be back with the east coast chevre.

Daniel Bowman Simon (Summer ’09), founder of SNAP Gardens tells us that most SNAP (formerly Food Stamp) recipients are unaware that they can garden with their incredible growing power of food stamps. In 2011, over 45 million people, or more than one in seven Americans, rely on SNAP to put food on the table.
Davida Ginsberg (Fall ’10) is living and working not far from Adamah at Gould Farm, a therapeutic community for adults with mental illness, where she is working in the garden, harvesting vegetables, and learning how healing farm work can be for people.
Erin Taylor (Summer ’10) is representing Adamah in the first class of Food Corps, a new service year program focusing on school gardens, food education, and getting healthy local food into cafeterias. She says, “I work in Gloucester, MA and I draw on what I learned at Adamah all the time. I'm sure I won't be the last Adamahnik to serve with Food Corps!” Read about Erin and other Jewish Food Corps members in the Jew and the Carrot.
Bonnie Wolf (Summer ’10) is living in Tucson, AZ and is working for the Community Food Bank, specifically in the Community Food Resource Center in the Gabrielle Giffords Family Assistance Center, a program that works to find more sustainable solutions to the issue of hunger.
Rachel Freyja Bedick (Fall ’10) is living in a delicious cooperative house in Somerville, MA with a great group of folks, including Becca Weaver (Fall ‘06), and wonderful shabbat dinners and lunches. She recently began a Master's of Social Work graduate program at Simmons College.
Jacob Siegel & Eric Wehlitz (Summer ’11), new Jerusalem roommates, tell us: "We want you to know that we carry the energy and spirit of Adamah with us every day: in our eating practices, in what we buy (from an Organic local CSA!), and in song."
